Patti Snook - Chair

I have been a trustee since September 2020 but I have been associated with Bushy Leaze for much longer.

I was a teacher in early years for 30 years and had the privilege of being Head of Centre at Bushy Leaze from 2010.

I know how valuable the Family Support team is, and what a difference their support makes to the lives of very young children and their families, which is why I was instrumental in setting up the charity in 2016. We couldn’t stand by and let the Children’s Centre close.

I am delighted to see and support the team growing in strength and expertise. It is very satisfying to know we are helping to make a difference.

Can you help?

Our support for the vital work at the Bushy Leaze Children and Families Centre relies purely on grants and donations from businesses, organisations and individuals. We are grateful to all our funders who include the National Lottery Community Fund, Alton Town Council (ATC), Children In Need and The Goodall Foundation. We are delighted that local food stores, Tesco, The Co-op and Waitrose have helped us raise funding via their community funding schemes, along with local organisations like Alton Round Table, Alton Lions and many others.

In 2024 we secured a donation from The National Lottery Community Fund which will provide funding for a 5 year period. This has been very helpful and we will continue to seek out major grants and donations.

Fundraising in the local area has included quizzes, office cake sales, sponsored events and collections at local groups. These initiatives make a real difference. We are grateful to those individuals and families who have left money to us in their wills.

We appreciate every donation we receive however large or small. You can make a one-off donation or if you prefer, you can make a regular contribution.

For only £2.50 you can support a family to attend one of the group sessions at the Centre. £8 allows a family with a child with special needs to attend a Bushy Tales support group. £40 provides outreach support to a family for a year.

Funding Partners and Supporters

We are very grateful to all our funders who include Children In Need, the National Lottery Community Fund, Alton Town Council (ATC), Goodall Foundation, The Foyle Foundation and the Albert Hunt Trust. Other local groups such as Alton Rotary and Alton Victorian Cricket amongst others, have organized quizzes, office cake sales, sponsored events and collections. These initiatives really make a difference and we are grateful to all our fundraisers. Other funds have been donated via legacies and donations at local groups.

Just Giving

Every week of the year we are asked to support at least two local families with young children, who are experiencing challenges in their life and have reached a crisis point.  There are many factors that place pressure on families; coping with a new baby when you have post-natal depression, struggling to manage a family when mum/dad or a child has a physical disability, illness or mental health issues, coping with bereavement, managing children’s behaviour, financial hardship, family breakdown and so much more.

Some families are experiencing multiple and complex challenges that will benefit from support at an early stage to enable and empower them to move forward with their lives in a positive way.  Bushy Leaze Family Support  can make a real difference to these families and you can help us by making a donation to support us in our trusted and proven work.

We have a Just Giving account where you can make either a regular donation, or a one off donation securely and safely.

Thank you for your support.
