On May 6th, the Bushy Leaze Family Support Team proudly hosted the official opening of their new garden. The event was officiated by The Town Mayor, Councillor Annette Eyre. The garden will serve as a year-round venue for toddlers, mother and baby groups, and specialised support groups operated by the team. Funding for the playground was primarily provided through the Alton Town Council Community Infrastructure Levy and the Local Children’s Partnership, with equipment purchased through support from local councillors. We sincerely appreciate their assistance during this project, which made its realisation possible.
Feedback for the new garden has been amazing, a quote from a parent who attends regularly:
Yes it definitely makes a difference. I feel the children really benefit from being able to choose between indoor or outdoor play and they usually float between the two. Also up until very recently we didn’t have a usable garden at home, so it is nice for the families who may not have safe outdoor space at home. Being outdoors opens up space for different types of wet and messy play. I also like exposing my child to natural light in the day.
